So tired...
…that I literally missed my apartment on my way home. Walked straight past it. Nearly got to the opposite end of the block before realizing my mistake.
Healthy. Next thing you know I’ll think I’ve lost my glasses, but they’ll be on the top of my head. The impressive thing about this next step is that I don’t have glasses. Think it will still happen. Stay tuned.

The day I order chicken from Domino’s is the day my life has officially gone downhill. Please note this, and remind me when it inevitably happens.

Ridiculously good find, JR. A-mazing, and far too adorable for words.

Tom Colicchio Goes to Fantasy Land for HBO →
“First Tom Colicchio’s giving cooking tips to Kate Winslet for the Mildred Piercemini-series, and now we learn that he’s also crafting the menu for food trucks tied to HBO’s new fantasy series, Game of Thrones. Which, um, well, okay?” (excerpt)

Unacceptable...
as in, the fact that I have been neglecting my tumblr. Expect an outpouring of ridiculous posts, coming soon.
Things I did today...
went to the Architectural Digest Home Design Show and looked at all the pretty things I can’t afford, never mind fit in my apartment.
ate dinner by the Hudson River
tried out the gym by Lincoln Center (spoiler: it’s the worst NYSC I’ve been to)
went on a Trader Joe’s run
I consider this an impressive list since I essentially did nada until 3 PM. Unless you count me...

JR, well put…
NYTimes Op-ed discussion on the seemingly never-ending impact of a simple, singular negative review on Yelp that led to a forwarding of said bad review on every other review site imaginable. I can lament Mr. Buschel; so often, consumers overlook the implications of their actions on small businesses all for small gains (like free meals or LED lights… ahem). What’s a small...

Jamie Oliver Now Has His Own Line of Cheese →
I don’t think I can even properly comment on this…the packaging is too much. At no point in my grocery shopping do I think “wouldn’t it be great if I could buy a hunk of cheese with Jamie Oliver’s face on it?”
Just me?

My sushi intake is off the charts...

A Chef Is Cooking →
Okay, so I am a fan of this article, because I am a fan of all things Sam Talbot. HOWEVER, I cannot get past the fact that this writer made not one, not two, but three typos, one of which has yet to be corrected (challenge: find it).
ALSO, Sam Talbot is kind of a smartie. Who knew? Answer: Anyone who has read this quote:
“Chefs are usually the guys in the back, sweaty, covered in food,” he said....

I do not understand why the guy who lives in the apartment above me always STOMPS around. Is that necessary? It’s like the weight of the world is in his every step. Can’t be healthy.

Paper or Plastic? Wine by the Box, Keg and Can →
Box, absolutely. Keg, dying to try it. But can?! Reminds me of the It’s Always Sunny episode where they all start drinking wine out of soda cans. I really need to meet the writers of that show. Tribute above.

Noooo.
My second favorite is gone, following in Dale’s wake. Let us all please have a moment of silence for Carla and her best moments of the season (i.e. “No chef, I said un-done-te”). I would be shocked if after shooting this season they hadn’t already offered Carla her own show, so she should be back on air soon, otherwise I may slip into withdrawal.

Hot Women Serving Cold Fish Make for Raw Feelings... →
“The No. 1 reason most chefs cite as to why girls can’t make sushi: they’re too hot. “The temperature of a woman’s hands is higher, and when you’re handling fresh fish, this isn’t good,” says Keiji Mori, the owner of Maru, a modern kaiseki (multi-course haute cuisine) restaurant in Tokyo that employs two female chefs in its kitchen.”...

Okay, this is the new place I’m salivating over. And it’s not just because Sam Talbot is a cutie, though I would be lying if I didn’t say that was a contributing factor.

Raising a Milkshake to the Bride and Groom
A McWedding? Horrifying. Disclaimer: I realize that this is just a cultural divide sort of thing, but that doesn’t make me want to vomit less. I’ll place the blame on the “cake” made of stacked apple pies. Yup, that clinched it.
